3. Fighter Improvement
For each fighter that survived the previous mission, go through the following process one at a time. Gather a D6 for the fighter for each of the following they meet the requirements of.
| Requirement | Associated Characteristic | Associated Ability Group |
|---|---|---|
| Gather a D6 for each enemy the fighter killed or knocked unconscious in melee. | Weapon Skill | COMBAT |
| Gather a D6 for each enemy the fighter killed or knocked unconscious by shooting. | Ballistic Skill | GUN PLAY |
| Gather a D6 for each ally you successfully gave first aid to. | Sagacity | KNOWLEDGE |
| Gather a D6 for each command successfully given. | Fellowship | LEADERSHIP |
| Gather a D6 for each battle shock check passed. | Grit | WILL POWER |
| Gather a D6 if the fighter’s model is kitbashed. | Luck | FOOLISHNESS |
| Gather a D6 if the fighter’s model is painted. | Luck | FOOLISHNESS |
Then roll all of your D6s and group them together by those that share the same result. For example if your result is 1,2,2,5,2. Then the twos would be grouped together, and the 5 and 1 would be by themselves. Then compare your results rolled on the table below by both their result and multiplicity.
| Result | Improvement |
|---|---|
| singles | Gain an extra D6 to scavenging in the following scavenge step. |
| doubles | The fighter improves the value of a characteristic by +1 that’s associated to a requirement the fighter met. |
| triples | The fighter gains a random ability from an Associated Ability Group of a requirement the fighter met. |
For example, Skreet-Street, a bestial rat man, killed two enemies in melee, passed a battle shock check, and is both kitbashed and painted. This grants him 5D6 to roll for improvement. He rolls a result of 1, 1, 6, 2, and 1. The triple 1s allows him to get a random ability from his choice of the Combat, Willpower, or Foolishness ability group. The single 2 allows him to get an extra scavenging die for the following step. The single 6 allows him to get a second extra scavenging die for the following step.
If a fighter earned more than 6 dice for improvement, they must only keep 6 after rolling all of them for the resulting improvement.
